About Children Ltd provides music, drama, play and art therapy services for children and families in Cumbria and Lancashire. We have a range of specialist approaches relevant to children who have had experiences of trauma and loss including parental separation, bereavement and illness.
About Children Ltd works with children and their carers, whether living in the residential sector or with their families in Cumbria and Lancashire. We have three therapy rooms in our Kendal base. However, we can provide therapy in a number of different settings appropriate to the child's needs.
About Children Ltd is a registered Adoption Support Agency approved by Ofsted (Registration no. SC431970). We are therefore able to provide a range of therapeutic services for adopted children and their families.

All of our therapists hold full membership of their relevant professional body (HCPC, BAAT, BAPT, BADTH, BAMT, BACP)
In order to ensure that we provide a safe and effective service for the children, carers and agencies with whom we work, we have the following supervisory and consultation arrangements:
Lesley is supervised by Tess Bailey-Sayer, B.Ed (Cantab) who is a Senior Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist.
The Therapists are case managed by Lesley Ritchie in addition to having their own clinical supervisors.
In addition to the above we have quarterly consultation with Dr Renee Marks who is a qualified therapist and social worker with many years experience in working with children and families who have experienced trauma and abuse. She has a particular interest (and runs training) in working with children with dissociative tendencies. Renee Marks has also undertaken Advanced EMDR training.
