Covid-19 Update

The physical and mental wellbeing of all who About Children support and work alongside is our absolute priority. About Children is confident that therapy sessions can be conducted in a safe manner and have put the following measures in place to protect all who access the building:

  • The building is cleaned regularly, with particular attention given to regularly touched surfaces such as door handles, toilet flushes, taps. All surfaces are wiped down at timed regular intervals.
  • Two-meter markings are placed on the floor as a guide.
  • Single use paper towels have replaced our usual fabric hand towels.
  • Hand sanitiser and wipes are placed at reception and throughout the building and PPE will be available for those who wish to use it.
  • Signing in is completed by staff.
  • Refreshments are still available for visiting parents/carers but disposable cups are used.
  • Windows are open in waiting areas where possible.
  • Toys available in the therapy rooms are limited and a small number of toys are for each individual child’s use only.
  • We have no touch guidelines in place in visual form on the wall and remind the children of this.
  • Parents/carers will only wait in rooms where social distancing can be maintained and we will be offering the use of the garden to assist in this. In the unlikely event that the building is busy and can not safely accommodate waiting adults they will be asked to wait in their car in the car park.
  • Masks may be worn if visitors wish to do so. Masks are available upon request.
